JUST A LITTLE CAVALIER

If you're lucky enough to own a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, you already know why we're obsessed. If you've never had the pleasure of owning a Cavalier and you're considering the breed as your next pet, we hope you'll learn more about them here! Our goal is to provide both resources and information to those interested in these incredible dogs, and to help prospective owners decide if this might be the right breed for them. 

​The primary focus of our breeding program is the health of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. If you're shopping for a puppy or researching breeders, here's a few facts to know about Just A Little Cavalier:

• All of our Cavaliers undergo full DNA panels through Embark to make sure they do not pass on genetic defects to their offspring.
• We administer all of the testing recommended by the Orthopedic Foundation of America for this breed. And, prior to any breeding, we ensure our OFA information is public, so that prospective customers can see our testing and their results before deciding whether or not to purchase a puppy from any litter.
• We have the highest rating of "excellent" for our health testing practices according to GoodDog.com.
• We have dogs that are beautiful both inside and out, with some of the top American and European bloodlines including several Champions and Grand Champions.
• We do not charge a fee to be on our interest list. We never ask for a deposit until you've chosen your puppy. We're confident enough in our program and puppies that we don't need to lock you in to a non-refundable deposit while you wait.
• We do not sacrifice the genetic diversity or health of our beloved Cavaliers by inbreeding (or "line breeding") our dogs to try and achieve the perfect "show quality" Cavalier. Health will always come first - no exceptions.
• We participate in Cavalier Rescue and donate proceeds of our program to our local shelter, Dorchester Paws.

​Reputable breeders use DNA testing to produce the highest quality dogs. We provide prospective owners a full Embark DNA report on every dog we breed. Owners of mixed breeds or shelter pets can also gather lots of useful information by DNA testing their own dogs. Our preferred DNA testing company is Embark.
