THE CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIEL
Originating in the 1600's and named after King Charles II, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel ("CKCS" for short) is sometimes referred to as the spaniel to the Kings. These lovable dogs were a favorite of royalty and were often used as lap warmers and foot warmers in many royal homes. Owners will tell you they still believe themselves to be royalty in every way!
In our humble opinion, Cavaliers are the most loving and gentle companion animal on the planet. They are great with children, easily trained, small enough to travel but large enough to participate in agility exercises or enjoy long walks with their owners. They are energetic enough to fit into a busy household, but just as happy curled up on the couch for the day. Many call them a "sporty" toy breed which is a great description of their compact size coupled with their sporty personality.
Cavaliers come in a variety colors and we love them all (even the beautiful rare colors who are excluded from the show rings). Can't decide on a color - perhaps you need one of each. Below you will find some snapshots of our beautiful breeding family. We also invite you to check out the following pages or blog posts:
